El pH es uno de los parámetros más importantes a controlar. Todos sabemos que muchos de los pa, son estables a un determinado pH, controlarlo hará que las formulaciones sean activas o no, estables o no y nos condiciona muchas veces el tipo de excipiente (por ejemplo el agente suspensor).
El pH de la formulación debe mantenerse estable durante todo el periodo de validez y conservación establecido.
Las soluciones en general son más inestables que las suspensiones teniendo en cuenta los procesos de:
- Oxidación/reducción
- Incompatibilidades
- Solubilidad
- Riqueza/Equivalencias (Sales)
- Temperatura
- Tamaño de partícula.
